Choose when to install a desktop update
Desktop update controls made installation explicit, while quitting gained a best-effort step to finish an active local recording.

Added a quit-time step that asks the recorder to stop, then attempts to finish its local files and add the recording to the recent list.
An unresponsive recorder could still leave an unfinished recording. This change covered quitting the app; it did not guarantee recovery after a crash or a successful upload.
